About

( 02 )

Roberta Beidleman is an English designer currently studying Textiles Design at Nottingham Trent University, specialising in Knit.

Her work involves both hand craft methods and machine knitted structures, as she explores these both separately and together. Her final BA collection is a visual discussion examining textiles’ relationship to the female identity; looking at how fibre work like knit or crochet is historically, culturally and socially associated to domesticity and femininity.

Working with 100% deadstock yarn and materials has been an innate process during the creation of her final BA collection, as being a responsible designer is something she strives to  ingrain within her practice.
